RECYCLING BUILDING
PERU, 2012

The proposal is a response of a need to manage the waste produced by the commercial zone of Lima “Mesa Redonda” (60 ton waste dayly).  At the present time, there is a gathering circuit for trash, but it is incomplete, because the trash is not processed. The project proposes a recycling plant, animal refuge, public safety, restaurant, gym, stores among others. The priority is always to serve the city and its citizens.

It is located in a central zone of the city with many complex dynamics where the urban activities converge. The project offers a great plaza, creating a vacuum at the end of “jirón mesa redonda” street. The path of the building shows the commerce as a great articulator of uses where the "destination" programs (gym, restaurant) are located at the end of the path.
The objective of the project is offer the city animation spaces and at the same time a milestone being a industrial and a public building at the same tiime.
